During my meetings throughout the county, I am listening to the people’s opinions on the issues. When you give me your vote, I will work with other policy and law makers to provide you with solutions to the real problems and to create opportunities for you, your families, and your community.

Ivan D. Posey, Public Servant –Placing the People First

  • A First Class Education for all Children

I believe in the right to a public education for all Wyoming children, as guaranteed by the Wyoming State Constitution (Article 1, Section 23, Article 7, Section, 23). This guarantee was provided to ensure that all children enjoy a public education that enables their individual growth and development, thus creating citizens who can contribute to the future of their communities.

I believe this guarantee for tax-supported public educational services applies no matter where a person lives in the great state of Wyoming, whether in rural communities, remote mountain and ranch homes, or in our more populated towns and cities. I also support early childhood development services and quality preschool education.

  • Responsible Budgeting and Fiscally Responsible Property Tax Relief

Homeowners are suffering from the rising rate of property taxes. These conditions may cause some Fremont County homeowners to risk not being able to afford the house that they have worked for, sacrificed to buy, and need to live in.

If elected, I will work across the aisle in the legislature to explore all options, and I will fight for primary homeowner tax reductions that are constitutionally sound and fair for Wyoming citizens.

  • Individual, Community and School Safety

I believe in Backing the Blue and supporting those who protect and serve us. Wyoming people should be able to work and live in an environment free of violence in all its forms.

Our country’s military and veterans also protect and serve us, at home and abroad. As an Army veteran myself, I respect this service and the sacrifices made by our military members and families. As your representative, I will advocate for honoring this service and making resources available for them.

  • Accessible and Affordable Health Care and Privacy

As your representative, I will work to ensure that all citizens have access to affordable health care (including mental health and suicide prevention resources). I will also support environmental services that promote health and safety for workers, consumers, and the community.

I believe our Senior Citizens need the best quality health care and access to services available to them.

I believe in the Constitutional right to privacy, including for our homes, our possessions, and our bodies. This right includes the right to reproductive freedom, the right to privacy in our choice of health care, and the right to be free from governmental intrusions.

  • Safe and Affordable Housing

Safe and affordable housing is essential for everyone: students, teachers, health care workers, persons with disabilities, and consumers. A lack of housing limits economic development. As your representative, I will promote legislation and coordination among state, federal, tribal, and local agencies to address our acute housing crisis.

  • Missing and Murdered Indigenous People

I respect and support the work of everyone who is working to end the violence against our Indigenous Sisters and Brothers.

I will do what I can from a legislative level to fight this scourge.

  • Tribal Sovereignty and Treaty Rights

I respect and support Tribal Sovereignty and Treaty Rights. Having a great deal of experience in tribal governance I understand the challenges and have fought for and will continue to fight for our right to sovereignty.

By casting your vote for me, no matter your political affiliation, I pledge that your voice will be heard and your concerns raised. Together we can create a better today and tomorrow for children, families, businesses and communities.
